But according to Denise things weren't so rosy when the pair reunited on Capital FM.
In an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live yesterday, DVO explained that joining her old pal on Capital's breakfast show had been "difficult".
And since she left in 2008 (citing early mornings as the reason, obviously) Denise hasn't heard from Johnny.
Asked when was the last time she saw her former co-host, Van Outen replied: "Since I left the breakfast show!
"I haven't heard from him. Not when I got married or fell pregnant or anything, no."
Though the two presenters had been good friends since co-hosting the Big Breakfast in 1998, Johnny apparently wasn't too happy about sharing the airwaves.
"I think he wasn't happy that I joined in the first place," Denise explained. "He made it quite clear. But I think at the time, in his defence, he was used to doing the show on his own.
"So I felt a little bit uncomfortable being there and now the show's changed completely."
She added: "I did try and speak to him since I left but he kind of blocked me!"
Johnny now happily co-hosts the early morning radio show with Lisa Snowdon.

If feuding ever becomes an Olympic event, we wouldn't bet against Sharon winning gold for Team GB. She's taken a series of pot-shots at Dannii since leaving The X Factor - all of which smells a bit of sour grapes to us.
Gordon Ramsay knows how to cook up a tasty controversy, so it was no surprise when asked when he had last complained in a restaurant, that he said it had been the last time he ate in one of Jamie's. Ouch!
Once they were BFFs, but Paris and Kim's friendship seems to have soured at about the point where Kim started getting more attention than Paris. The heiress was later quoted as saying that Kim's bum "reminds me of cottage cheese inside of a big trash bag". Lovely!
